First-year appointments are made through the National Resident Matching Program and applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applicants are selected for interview based on their USMLE scores, letters of recommendation, medical school transcript, and Dean's letter.
International medical graduates must have a valid ECFMG certificate as well as have licensure in the state of South Carolina. Additional requirements include successfully passing the USMLE exams, Part I and Part II, with a score of 80 or above, and successfully passing the clinical skills assessment test. One year of experience in some activity in a medical setting in the United States is preferred.
The deadline for application is specified by ERAS. Interviews are scheduled from November through January, meeting established NRMP deadlines.

Interviews will be scheduled only after the receipt of the above materials. These materials must be satisfactory and the applicant must be qualified to obtain a South Carolina State Medical Board License before an interview is scheduled. If you are interested in touring any of our facilities or in meeting specific faculty members during your visit, please let us know and we will make arrangements.
NOTE: For non-recent medical school graduates, a record of work in the clinical field within the past two years is required.
