As a Palmetto Health/USC School of Medicine Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Resident, you will gain first-hand experience in the modern facilities of several hospitals and clinics in the Columbia area.

Palmetto Health Baptist Columbia, a Palmetto Health hospital, is a 524-bed state-of-the-art medical center that provides a comprehensive continuum of mental health and substance abuse services for patients ages five through geriatrics. Services include outpatient counseling, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization, and inpatient crisis stabilization.

Palmetto Health Richland, a Palmetto Health hospital, is a nationally recognized regional community teaching hospital with 649 beds, including 57 pediatric beds in Children's Hospital. Child psychiatry residents perform consultations to the pediatric wards.

William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute is a 89-bed teaching hospital. Training programs include general and child and adolescent psychiatry residencies, a forensic psychiatry fellowship, and internships in allied medical health disciplines. Clinical services are provided in outpatient and inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry, and outpatient forensic psychiatry. The Institute serves as a service base of the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science of the USC School of Medicine.

The S.C. Department of Mental Health is a comprehensive statewide network that includes 17 community mental health centers, satellite offices, and a Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic at William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute.
