John Stewart, MD |
Dr. Stewart is one of the longest tenured members of the staff at Palmetto Health Richland. He became the emergency department chairman in 1995 and was the hospital chief of staff in 2002-2003. |

Thomas Cook, MD |
Dr. Cook came to Palmetto Health after leaving the Army Medical Corp in 1996. He became the Ultrasound Coordinator in 1996 and Assistant Program Director in 1998. In 2002 he filled the program director position. He is the founder and a co-director of the Emergency Ultrasound Course. |

Eric Brown, MD |
Dr. Brown graduated from Palmetto Health in 2003. In 2006, he became the director for Simulation Medicine for the entire Palmetto Health Richland Campus. He is the director of the annual senior resident retreat that takes place in the spring of each year. |

David Ford, MD |
Dr. Ford is a past president of the South Carolina College of Emergency Physicians and member of the board of directors. He is the director of the Comprehensive Review in Emergency Medicine conducted annually in Charleston, South Carolina. He is the director of quality assurance for the emergency department. |

Ron Fuerst, MD |
Dr. Fuerst joined the department after directing pediatric emergency medicine at the University of Florida. He completed a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Florida in 1991. In 1999 he developed the very popular Wilderness Medicine Rotation. |

Bill Gerard, MD |
Dr. Gerard is the department chief and medical director. He also is the medical director for Richland County EMS and the LifeNet Air Ambulance system that serves Palmetto Health Richland and the Midlands region of South Carolina. |

Gary Hals, MD, PhD |
Dr. Hals joined the faculty in 1997 after completing residency at the University of Cincinnati. He also received a PhD from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He is currently the director of the department's airway training and publishes frequently. |

Allison Harvey, MD |
Dr. Harvey is the director of the department's Sexual Assault Nurse Examination program (SANE) and a past president of the South Carolina College of Emergency Physicians. She is the co-director of the Wilderness Medicine Rotation. |

Patrick Hunt, MD |
Dr. Hunt is the director of the department's Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship is a national lecturer on emergency ultrasound. He is also co-director of the Emergency Ultrasound Course and the director for Information Technology for the department. |

Trip Jennings, MD |
Dr. Jennings graduated from Palmetto Health in 2006. He is the co-director of medical student education. He is the current president for the South Carolina College of Emergency Physicians. |

Dr. Lloyd completed a pediatric residency at Palmetto Health Richland before training in emergency medicine. He is board-certified in emergency medicine, pediatrics, and pediatric emergency medicine. |

Joseph Myslinski, MD |
Dr. Myslinski is a past residency director for the program and was pivotal in the development of the Oral Board Review Course presented by the South Carolina College of Emergency Physicians. |

Dr. Privette has been the assistant program director since 2004. He also is the director for the department's Chest Pain Observation Unit and the South Carolina College of Emergency Physician's Oral Board Course. |

Dr. Richardson completed his toxicology fellowship at the University of California at San Diego. He is the director of the Palmetto Poison Control Center and is very active in research with numerous publications. |

Dr. Shelton is the Tactical Medical Officer for the Special Response Team for the Richland County Sheriff's Department and also chairs the Palmetto Health Emergency Preparedness Committee. |

Dr. Stanfield is the past president of the South Carolina College of Emergency Physicians. He is co-director for the Wilderness Medicine rotation and is active in the college's Oral Board Course. |
