Smart Consumer Plan:

Dental Insurance
The House Staff Officer is eligible to participate in Palmetto Health's low option dental plan provided at no charge for the House Staff Officer's individual coverage. Coverage is available for members of the House Staff Officer's immediate family, (i.e., spouse and children), But requires premium payment by the House Staff Officer. The House Staff Officer may elect to participate in the Hospital's high option dental plan with the cost of the premium difference paid by the House Staff Officer.

Vision Insurance
Vision coverage on exams, eye glasses, frames and contact lenses is provided by Palmetto Health for you at discounted group rates through payroll deduction.

Long-Term Disability Insurance
The House Staff Officer is eligible to participate in Palmetto Health's Long Term Disability insurance plans at no premium cost to the House Staff Officer. LTD eligibility begins 180 days after start date.

Life Insurance
The House Staff Officer is eligible to participate in Palmetto Health's life insurance plan, with one time salary life insurance coverage provided at no cost to the House Staff Officer. One or two times salary in additional life insurance may be purchased by the House Staff Officer.

Malpractice Insurance
Your malpractice insurance is provided by Palmetto Health while you are participating in the Palmetto Health Graduate Medical Education Program. Palmetto Health will assist you in obtaining additional insurance if needed for moonlighting purposes, and the premium may be payroll deducted for six months.
