 Palmetto Health Graduate Medical Education

James Raymond MDThank you for considering graduate medical education at Palmetto Health. For over 60 years, residency training has been a major mission of our institution. Along with our partner and close affiliate, the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, we offer training in 18 specialty and fellowship programs to over 200 physicians and dentists. Our progressive faculty are committed to the most innovative and modern methods of teaching and patient care.

As a medical-school-affiliated, regional community teaching hospital, we offer our residents a unique atmosphere combining the sophistication of academia with the personal warmth of a community hospital. This mix of the tradition with the innovative provides an ideal matrix for the crucially important task of "learning to heal."

After reading through the material, I hope you will consider visiting our facility, residents, and faculty. I am confident that, once here, you will share our enthusiasm for this unique environment and for educational opportunities we can offer you.
