Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration
Palmetto Health is one of 250 hospitals nationwide that participates in Premier and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration (HQID) pay-for-performance project. The following six high-volume inpatient conditions using national measures of quality care, called Appropriate Care Measures, are being tracked through HQID and at Palmetto Health:

Press Ganey
The satisfaction of our patients is of upmost importance to us, and it is measured on a continual basis using Press Ganey surveys that are mailed to patients' homes after discharge. The comprehensive surveys represent both Inpatient and Outpatient populations and provide feedback on a variety of categories. In addition to providing us with valuable information about how we can improve our care and services, the Press Ganey survey allows you to tell us about the quality of care you received.
Each Palmetto Health hospital's performance is measured against hospitals of similar bed size.
HCAHPS
HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) is a national survey that asks patients about their experiences during a recent hospital stay. See Palmetto Health Richland's HCAHPS scores.
