MarkWilliams-web.pngThe training and education of our future physicians has been a vital mission of Palmetto Health for almost a century. As you consider and examine our programs, you will see robust investments in facilities, excellent clinicians and an enormous breadth of clinical opportunities. The unique partnership between the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and Palmetto Health enables us combine the best of an academic environment along with a mission-driven and highly successful community health system.

We currently offer training in over 24 residency and fellowship programs and are considering additional programs as health care continues to evolve and physician workforce needs may change. Our faculty and staff are committed to providing an experience that reflects the most innovative and progressive models of teaching and patient care while, at the same time, fostering the acquisition of leadership and team-building skills for all of our physicians-in-training.

At present, there are more than 250 residents and fellows who have chosen to pursue their training at Palmetto Health. The medical school affiliation, the wide range of clinical settings, the quality of the medical and nursing staff and the clear commitment to great patient care assure that you will enjoy an excellent and challenging learning experience.

On behalf of the entire Palmetto Health community, I invite you to review our programs and consider making a visit to meet with our faculty, residents and fellows. You will encounter a warm and friendly atmosphere with individuals who are committed to your education but also your well-being and your future.  Thank you again.
