Geriatrics

Geriatrics Fellowship Educational Experience

What to expect

During the first year, fellows participate fully in the clinical care of older patients in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, consultative, nursing home care, and adult day health care. Fellows rotate through the affiliated institutions, focusing on attaining the clinical skills necessary to provide comprehensive assessment and management, knowledge and treatment of geriatric syndromes, as well as preventive geriatrics. Fellows who are interested in research or developing as a clinician educator may complete an optional second year that will focus on either developing research skills or clinician educator skills.
