Dr. Steen joined the Palmetto Health Senior Primary Care Practice and the Division of Geriatrics following his completion of his Geriatrics Fellowship in 2011 at Palmetto Health/USC School of Medicine. Dr. Steen is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Geriatrics, Department of Internal Medicine. He is also board certified in Family Medicine and has served as Assistant Professor in the University of South Carolina Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. Dr. Steen provides geriatric care in both the outpatient and inpatient environments. He has special interests in hospital care of the elderly, geriatric joint diseases, and health system clinical informatics.

Dr. Maylath joined the Senior Primary Care group in 2005 after completing a Geriatric Fellowship at Palmetto Health/USC School of Medicine.

Dr. Roque-Nazario is a board certified geriatrician.  She joined the Division of Geriatrics and Palmetto Health Senior Primary Care in 2010.  Dr. Roque-Nazario completed her family medicine residency at the AnMed Health Family Medicine Residency Program, and completed geriatric fellowship at Palmetto Health Richland/USC School of Medicine in 2009.

Dr. Matthews came to USC/Palmetto Health from University of Colorado in 1998 where she completed a two-year fellowship in geriatric medicine. She has been a staff physician at Senior Primary Care Practice since 2000. Her major interest has been in physical activity in older adults. Other interests include frailty, urinary incontinence and sleep disorders in older adults.

Dr. Gajadhar is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. She is a Primary Care physician with Senior Primary Care Practice in Columbia, S.C. Dr. Gajadhar is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Geriatrics, Department of Internal Medicine, University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She is interested in educating medical students, internal medicine residents, and geriatrics fellows on principles of care for the elderly.

Dr. Srinivasan is board certified in General Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry. Dr. Srinivasan is active in medical student, resident and fellow education.  She is also actively involved in research. Her clinical areas include outpatient and nursing home patient care. Dr. Srinivasan is active in the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry where she serves on the teaching and training committee and the Program Committee, as well as the South Carolina Psychiatric Association where she is president-elect.  Her clinical interests include dementia, depression in the elderly and disaster preparedness for older adults.

Dr. Moss joined the faculty in 2013 after completing her fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Palmetto Health/USC School of Medicine in June 2013. Dr. Moss completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Palmetto Health/USC School of Medicine.

Dr. Hirth was recruited to Palmetto Health/USC School of Medicine in 1994. He was the originator of the Senior Primary Care Practice and co-developed the Geriatric Fellowship training program and the Acute Care for the Elderly unit. Dr. Hirth has obtained several large training and education grants, as well as conducted research on the elderly in osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease and fall detection. When he is not working Dr. Hirth is an avid cyclist and enjoys working on cars.
