Meet the Chiefs

Thank you for taking the time to consider the Prisma Health/UofSC School of Medicine Columbia Internal Medicine Residency Program!

We are honored to be serving as chiefs this academic year. From day one of our intern year, and even looking back to our interview day, we have felt welcomed and at home in this program. There is a level of collegiality, approachability, and support balanced with an emphasis on education and autonomy. This culture has allowed our graduates to become excellent providers, whether it be as hospitalists, primary care physicians, or as subspecialists.

Our program offers an academic based learning experience with support from the UofSC School of Medicine in a large Level-1 trauma center that acts as the main referral center in the region. We offer multiple avenues to help you achieve your career goals, including a Primary Care track for those seeking a strong foundation in outpatient care, and multiple in-house fellowship programs including Cardiology, Infectious Disease, and Pulmonary and Critical Care for those who seek specialization. Prisma Health–Midlands continues to expand and we are excited about the opportunities this provides our program.

We appreciate this past year has been difficult with the COVID-19 pandemic. Our program has taken a variety of steps to ensure safety and wellness. Though our in-person interactions may be limited, we welcome any questions that you may have about our program. Thank you again for your consideration and we wish you the best of luck throughout the application process.
