Walters, EdDIn March 2013, the Office of Diversity and inclusion was created to strengthen and sustain a culture of inclusion that aligns with Prisma Health–Midlands Vision, Behavior Expectations and the Prisma Health–Midlands Experience - ONE PERSON. ONE MOMENT. ONE LOVE. Valuing diversity and inclusion creates an environment that allows team members to use their skills, abilities and capabilities to achieve both organization and personal goals. Diversity and inclusion enhances the patient experience and makes the community we serve feel welcomed. When we value each other, everyone accomplishes more and is greater than the sum of the parts.

Prisma Health–Midlands is committed to valuing, respecting and making all who experience us feel visible. We know that diversity is more than what we see (race/ethnicity, age, gender or disability-primary dimensions); it also includes those cultural traits we cannot see (family status, work experience, religion, socioeconomic status and many others aspects-secondary dimensions).  Valuing all dimensions makes inclusion possible.
